Georg: Portrait Session with Dark Background
One of my first professional portrait shoots with my first proper crop-sensor DSLR, photographed in a homemade studio after I had bought an external speedlight and some black fabric for a background.

Looking at it years later, I would probably add a second light behind the subject to create a bit of separation from the background. At the time, though, the way the figure gradually disappears into the black worked well with the mood I wanted for the portrait.
