“The Rest of Your Evening” Portrait Series
An experimental portrait series from June 2017 with Krista.
The shoot began around an abandoned Soviet-era Lada near Tartu maantee, the car rusting and punctured with what appeared to be bullet holes. Instantly played out like a movie scenario.
The title for this photo series references Chokebore’s “The Rest of Your Evening”, a strange 20-minute track featuring phone recording of the album’s lyrics being translated into Swedish.
The title inspiration for this photo series.
From there, the series moves into a studio setting.
The final image moves from black and white into colour, combining the portrait (which actually remains black and white) with several photographs I had taken elsewhere around the same period with digital and analog cameras.
Through layering, texture and digital manipulation, this sits somewhere between photography and graphic design.
