Tallinn Polytechnic School Film Festival 2025 Visual Identity
I have been connected to the Tallinn Polytechnic School Film Festival since its early years, when it was launched as a student initiative. One of my course mates and future business partner, Reio Raudheiding, created the original logo and visual identity for the festival, while I followed the project from the sidelines and occasionally contributed supporting graphic materials over the years.
Each year, the festival's colours and key visuals change according to a new theme.
In 2025, now as a teacher at Polytechnic School, I was given the opportunity to create the festival's visual identity myself. For the first time, I was responsible for the entire graphic system, from the initial concept to the final campaign materials used across print and digital formats.

The design drew inspiration from vintage poster design and comic-book aesthetics, using halftone patterns, bold typography and illustrated details. The visual theme played with alien abduction – complete with a beam of light and a floating silhouette – while the colour palette stayed rooted in the school’s visual identity: dark blue, light blue, cream and lime green.
The 2025 edition was the eighth Tallinn Polytechnic School Film Festival, culminating in a gala at Tallinn’s Sõprus cinema on 25 April. A total of 51 film teams registered for the festival, with 35 completing and submitting their films.
